Construction is scheduled to switch to the west side of Monroe on Wednesday, September 28th. As a result, the southbound bus stops at Monroe and Gardner, Monroe and Broadway and Monroe and Summit will be closed. Northbound/outbound bus stops on Monroe between Summit and Boone will reopen for the northbound Route 4 and outbound Route 124 to use regular routing.
The outbound Route 21, will not be able to make a left turn from Monroe to Broadway, and the outbound Routes 22 and 23 will have difficulty making a left turn from Monroe to go west on Boone, therefore Routes 21, 22, and 23 will have outbound detours.
The southbound Route 4 and inbound Route 124 will detour within the work zone to avoid traffic congestion. Inbound Routes 22 and 23 buses will continue to detour due to turning movement difficulties.
Outbound Route 21 detour:
From Lincoln at Main, right on Main, left on Washington, left on Boone, left on Adams, right on Broadway and resume. A temporary bus stop will be placed on Adams at Mallon.
Outbound Routes 22 and 23 detour:
From Lincoln at Main, right on Main, left on Washington, left on Boone, and resume on Boone west of Monroe. Outbound Routes 22 and 23 can can be accessed on Boone west of Monroe at the existing bus stop.
Southbound Route 4, and Inbound Route 124 detour:
From Monroe at Boone, left on Boone, right on Washington, right on Sprague, right on Lincoln, right on Riverside and resume.
Inbound Route 21 detour:
From Broadway at Maple, left on Maple, right on Boone, right on Washington, right on Sprague, right on Lincoln, right on Riverside and resume. The inbound Route 21 will not be able to make the right turn from Broadway onto southbound Monroe, so this detour will remain in effect through the end of the Monroe construction.
Inbound Routes 22 and 23 detour:
From Boone at Monroe, continue on Boone, right on Washington, right on Sprague, right on Lincoln, right on Riverside and resume.
A temporary stop will be placed on Boone just east of Monroe for buses heading downtown/inbound. Routes 4, 21, 22, 23 and 124 that are heading to the Plaza will serve this temporary stop.
Detour routing and duration are subject to change. Work is estimated to last until the middle of October.
