Service Revisions History

Each year, STA develops service updates to improve the transit system for all riders. This page highlights the history of these revisions.
 

STA’s service revisions are guided by community input, collected through outreach, surveys, and feedback sessions.  Explore the collaborative process that shapes our transit services to better meet the needs of Spokane residents.

Service Revisions by Year

2024

2024 service revisions focused on more direct service to the West Plains, increased City Line frequency, route improvements in northeast Spokane, and adjustments based on community feedback.

2023 service revisions included the launch of City Line with 15-minute service, routing and frequency adjustments for several routes like 11 and 27, the introduction of new Route 14, and the discontinuation of certain routes like 29 and 42.

2022 service revisions included the launch of the City Line, route and frequency improvements in Hillyard and Northeast Spokane, and other adjustments to improve performance and respond to community input.

The 2020–2022 STA service revisions included Cheney Corridor enhancements, Spokane Valley route adjustments, the launch of the City Line, expanded Airway Heights service, and improved Hillyard and Northeast Spokane connectivity.

2019 service revisions recommended a new Monroe-Regal Line with frequent service, new express Route 144, adjustments to Cheney routes for better EWU connectivity, and various network changes like discontinuing Route 44, modifying routes such as 34 and 39 for efficiency, and launching new routes like 67 to improve local access.

2018 service revisions included launching a new West Plains route, introducing a VTC express route, extending the Monroe-Regal Line, and modifying key routes like 2, 23, and 62 for better connectivity and service reliability.

Recommended 2017 service revisions included extending Saturday night service on major routes, launching a new Route 93 in Spokane Valley to improve connections along Indiana Avenue and Broadway, modifying Route 96 for efficiency, and increasing Saturday service on Route 33 to address demand.
